Video Premiere: "Pay No Mind" by Adam Hooks & The Huckleberries

By August Edwards

ABQGR is thrilled to premiere the "Pay No Mind" music video for Adam Hooks & The Huckleberries. "Pay No Mind" is the go-to tune to curate your own feel-good, unhinged summer.

The pandemic-borne band came in hot with a stellar debut album earlier this spring. After working furiously for months on a project that is both fresh and familiar (think Chris Stapleton), their first music video exhibits their punk side.

The subject of the track and music video is a dude who resides on the bank of the Rio Grande. He's a free spirit; "Like to call him crazy 'cause he's livin' free / keepin' coyotes and cottonwoods company," and, "unburdened by the boundaries of society." The song romanticizes the man's philosophy of life, and the video compliments this by portraying the different layers of reality.

"Pay No Mind" was already a winner in my eyes, but the music video accentuates the story in a way that is visually captivating as well as truthful.

We hope you'll check it out below and stream "Pay No Mind" - a song some call the next "Chattahoochee" - off the album So Far Gone. Thank you, Adam Hooks & The Huckleberries!
